mother's day

Happy Mother's day to me and to 3 beautiful daughters!

I love you gals and I'm so proud of the Mother's that you are!

pillows, pillows, and more pillows!

while shopping with k.j. for her birthday, we came across some dang cute pillows. but knowing me, i just can't pay that much for something that i think i can create (almost) as well, for a portion of the cost. so i happen to have my camera with me and took a few pics for later reference.

so, i ran into 'hobby lobby' (have i told you how dangerous it is, that i live sooo close to my new favorite store?), and grabbed some fabric with my 40% off coupon. set up my old stand by ~ the kenmore that i have had for i can't tell you how many years, and started sewing.

i just gathered at random as i sewed in circles. (after circle, after circle)

and this is what i ended up with.

i love how it turned out and will definitely be making more. in fact i have a few orders already for them. ~ kamryn, k.j. and siona, i will have to take you shopping to find the color of fabric you want yours made out of.

(just used about 2,000 water balloons instead of the 160 regular size that it called for.)

maybe if i hang it out on my door, summer will come!

a big whoopin' Happy birthday "HORRAY!" for k.j.

of course, grandpa had to help her with her ice cream!

this is a tradition that is wonderful! each year (after they turn 3) we get to take just them with grandpa and gramma out to where ever it is they choose to go for dinner. (and gramma usually takes them shopping before hand. for some reason, grandpa doesn't quite enjoy that part, (unless he can take them to cabellas).
we love to spoil them and make them feel really special... because that is what they are!

gift from k.j.

k.j. made this cute little hot pad for me, for mother's day, but couldn't wait another day to give it to me. she made it all by herself (not bad for a 6 year old,huh?!). she told me that i could even get it wet and it wouldn't matter. i hung it up on my cupboard, and she asks every time she comes in, if i have been using it.

thanks k.j. this is something i will treasure for a long, long time!
