camp courage ~ it's a jungle out there...

for stake young womens camp, this year, we went to mutual dell, up american fork canyon. i hope the girls had as much fun as we leaders. laurie adams was the stake camp director and kim nicol and i, were her assistants. we had about 500 yw and leaders.
kim was whining that she had nothing to wear to camp. so her mother, who lives in idaho, told her not to worry about it. she is really wealthy and has friends that go to paris all the time and she would have them pick kim up some clothes right off the runway. she was generous and shared them with all of us. thanks kim!
laurie in her pjs kim's moms friend picked up in paris.
me, with some of the clothes she shared with me

and...what's camp without watermelon?

kim, comin' down the zip line in her clothes right off the paris runway.

this was my bed. are ya jealous?

(we stake leaders, got to sleep in the lodge)

one of kim's favorites, her orangish-pink pantsuit came up missing.

this is me, helping with getting everything ready for the girls to arrive

judy... did you pack your evil eyes?

one of the activities that the ycl's came up with was this giant water slide.

that is our new stake president with the squirt gun

our stake ycl's were the best!

(they were the 'pink panthers')

me and my new found granddaughter, jocey
for our craft, we made necklaces out of washers.
these are 2 of my ycl's trying it out.

one of the finished products. the girls were pretty creative with them.

more of the waterslide

the first night, just the laurels came up. they all stayed in the lodge and brother saltmarsh, who is the lead guitarist in the band "joshua creek" and is also one of our high councilors in the stake, came up and bore his testimony, thru song. he was awesome!

kim and me

i was the brake person for the zip line. but only for one time! and this was my reward.

this is what happens on no sleep. even the leaders get silly.
but wait! we can't take pictures holding the camera ourselves...

so we figured out how to set the self timer on the camera.

here we are showing off some more of kim's collection.
the stake young women leaders were the
"cheetah mamas"
here we are doing our chant.

"we da jungle mama's and we sleep in ah pajama's

when we hea' da jungle call, we come, one and all!"

we got a new stake presidency the very sunday before camp. we already had president cosgrave scheduled to come and welcome the girls. he was a good sport and under the direction of president anderson, came up and welcomed the girls and had a cute little version of his 'sunday school song' to fit our camp courage theme.

cindy and mike cosgrave

president anderson came up to camp one day, sporting a 'hasmat' suit and a squirt gun.
what did he expect?

here is one of the wards that got him good, when he came down the zip line.

the girls at the top in the green, are the girls from the 25th ward (my ward) they were pumped about camp. they were the crocs and were full of energy. i think i was like them at one time.

jenny, laurie, sister lori featherstone (from the general yw board), kim and i

kim shared her outfits with sister featherstone, too.

sister featherstone and president anderson
singing the 'v-i-r-t-u-e' song
president anderson even knows how to do the 'moon walk'

laurie, kim and i... we get to go home.

camp courage, it's a jungle out there.
